Siren: An International Film Odyssey is organized by a group of burgeoning filmmakers. This year, the festival is celebrating its maiden voyage as a venue for the exhibition of innovative cinema. The festival is intended to be an eclectic mix of genres emphasizing work that is compelling, provocative, radical, challenging, and fun. Our hope is that the collision of work from around the world will provide an atmosphere of global engagement and dialogue. Ithaca, New York, is named for the Grecian city of Ithaka, home to Odysseus, legend of Ancient Greek mythology. During the early 20th century, Ithaca was an important center in the silent film industry.
